Serving Our Community
At St Joseph’s we are working to ‘Serve our Community’ over the year. We have built up links with a variety of local and National charities and each class has a focus charity that they support during the year.
This will allow our children to develop their value of love and the virtue of compassion:
Love |
Compassionate towards others, near and far, especially the less fortunate and loving by their actions and forgiving words |
By being compassionate and loving in the way pupils are treated, especially when a pupil is in trouble and by opening pupils’ eyes to those who suffer poverty, injustice and violence |
Here are the charities and community work that the classes will be supporting over the year:
Reception |
Events for Grandparents/ relatives |
Year 1 |
Brighter Beginnings |
Year 2 |
The Hygiene Bank |
Year 3 |
Local Residential Home |
Year 4 |
Bromley Homeless Charity |
Year 5 |
Local Pre Schools |
Year 6 |
Catholic Children’s Society. |
Support can include collecting donations, sponsored activities, helping at the donation banks, sending Christmas parcels and cards.
