May Procession

The month of May is dedicated to Our Lady, Mary.
To mark this, on Friday 20th, we held our annual May Procession.

It went from the school to the church led by Fr Peter, Deacon Garry, Deacon Mark, our altar servers and our faith leaders. Each child placed a flower or plant in front of the statue of Mary in her honour. Prayers followed including the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a decade of the rosary.

It culminated with the crowning of Mary with a garland of flowers. Pupils sang songs including ‘Ave Maria’ and ‘Hail Mary’ using British sign language. It was a reverent and moving act of worship.

Thank you to parents and pupils for the beautiful flowers and plants you brought in for this special occasion. Thank you to everyone who helped make the procession so wonderful. Miss Hughes, RE Leader
